Mats Gärdfors – New Group CEO [2020-01-30] On 1 March 2020, Borga’s first ever external Group CEO takes up his post at the company. Mats Gärdfors, former MD of ventilation producer Carrier North Europe, will succeed owner Peder Dagsánth as Group CEO. “Mats has extensive experience of leading international organisations focused on the manufacture and sales of products for the construction industry,” says outgoing Group CEO Peder Dagsánth. Dagsánth will now focus on his favourite areas in product development, and on structuring corporate governance in his role as the Group’s Chairman of the Board. As well as four years at Carrier, Mats Gärdfors has also been Executive VP at LOGSTOR, VP Marketing & Sales at ProfilGruppen, Head of Distribution & Sales at Lindab Ventilation, and has held various international positions within Saint-Gobain. “It’s an honour to be asked to lead Borga Group alongside Peder, who wants to raise the company to the next level with systematic board work and a true feel for innovation. Not every company has an asset like that, and it bodes well for a bright future,” says Gärdfors. High rate of development at Borga Borga Group has developed rapidly over the past five years, with turnover increasing more than 60% during the same time. The company has grown dramatically in size, while building up a strong brand and expanding its offering to include turnkey construction, for example. “Of course, there are challenges,” Gärdfors continues.“ The main ones are growing while increasing profitability, and ensuring that internal processes are implemented for further rationalisation. We are also a widespread organisation geographically, which requires a focus on making sure that everyone knows where we’re headed and why.” A complete hall construction group Borga was founded in 1973 and now has sales on 11 markets in Europe. The head office is in Skara, southern Sweden, and production takes place in Sweden, Poland and Lithuania. Borga’s business concept is to deliver material packages and complete hall buildings with a high proportion of products from the company’s own production and development. “Borga has a firmly established good reputation and excellent potential to go on expanding,” says Mats Gärdfors.
